JAKE VS MIKE
In less than a month, we are staring down one of the biggest events in boxing since Conor vs. Mayweather. Not because of the technical skill of the fighters (one has more than the other), but because of the sheer scale of the event. Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be fighting at Cowboy Stadium on November 15th, LIVE on Netflix.
A lot has changed since Jake Paul fought Nate Diaz in Dallas August 5th of last year, the stakes are a whole hell of a lot higher for Jake in this fight. In most people's eyes, this is a lose-lose for Paul. If he wins (which most are hoping he doesn't) he's knocking out a 58-year old boxing legend. If he loses, he's going to have a much harder time selling fights and continuing down the path he's set for himself - boxing Canelo Alvarez.
After watching some of the recent training footage of Mike, he looks as though he's still got the speed that made him so deadly in his 50-6 career - with 44 KOs. We can only hope that Jake is taking the fight as seriously as he should, with the release of his new his new body care line "W" I'm worried he's going to be too focused on PR and not on his opponent. Only time will tell, but I can guarantee most people we all know are going to be watching that fight to see Jake get knocked the fuck out.
I'm going to try my best to be at the Toyota Music Factory for all of the pre-fight press conferences, and open workout. See if I can't get some face time with the fighters, possibly hit a slammer while I'm there.
UFC 308
This weekend we've got a great card for the UFC. Really hoping that nothing happens between now and Saturday night, with Khamzat on the card you never know what's could pop off of change behind the scenes.
I'm not typically a betting man, and if I do bet it's usually only $20 and it's strictly on UFC events. And each and every UFC card, I solidify my picks with my boys who hold me accountable for my choices. This week is no different. Here is who I'm rocking with:
Shara Magomedov vs Armen Petrosyan
Althought I thought his last fight was extremely weak with how much hype this man entered the company with, I'm picking Shara "Bullet" Magomedov for this bout. Really hoping we get to see more of his Muay Thai and really get the card started with a big KO in the first round.
Leron Murphy vs Dan Ige
After watching Dan Ige step up and fight Diego Lopes back in June, I want to see this guy win every fight he's in. Also, if it is ever between the USA and England, you better know where my allegiance lies.
Magomed Ankalaev vs Aleksandar Rakic
Going with Magomed Ankalaev only because he keeps talking about Alex Pereira and would love to see Poatan smash this guy after all that.
Robert Whittaker vs Khamzat Chimaev
I wouldn't be mad if Bobby Knuckles takes down Khamzat this weekend, but for the story of the fighter and how much time off we see between his fights I'm picking Khamzat Chimaev for this bout. He's always an exciting fighter to watch, he had a tough fight against Usman but still pulled out the W. And although Whittaker is on a winning streak, I want to see Khamzat move up the rankings in Middleweight and go on a tear.
Ilia Topuria vs Max Hollway
You already know I have to go with Max "Blessed" Holloway. A lot of my boys are sweating this fight for him but I'm riding with him into battle this weekend. I think Ilia is overhyped and overconfident going into this fight and Max is going to expose him in the boxing exchanges.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR SLAMMERS?
Been on a bit of a hiatus from SlammersASMR as of late. Ever since the 4-piece 4th of July Special on Instagram with guest stars like John Tomb, and Ryan Spano, I've been plotting on my return to the timeline. Going to be uploading all of that has been strictly on Instagram to the other platforms soon as well (TikTok, Facebook, YouTube).
Be ready for more slurping and burping real soon...
